This is a temporary visa, for up to four years, with a pathway to permanent residence.
The business must meet labour market testing requirements and market salary requirements to nominate a worker for the visa. The worker must have the required skills and qualifications for the visa as well as a specified level of English.
The SID visa has 3 streams:
– The Specialist Skills stream – for positions with an annual base salary of at least $135000 (excluding some occupation classifications)
– The Core Skills stream – for occupations on the Core Skills Occupation List with an annual base salary of at least $73150
– The Labour Agreement stream – for occupations which do not meet the requirements of the above streams.
(For some occupations, a labour agreement is the only way to sponsor employees for a subclass 482 SID visa.)
